INTRODUCTION
It's a funny thing telling stories. Some require short episodic treatments ... some a longer, staged unfolding.

'Amicus' is a story I've been working on for some time. It is book length.

Over the last two years I have primarily focused on writing short stories for my two web sites. Parallel to enjoying the excitement of each new story line ... horny ... engaging characters ... global and local locations, contemporary and panhistoric time scales. I have enjoyed writing this longer story.

Some of the chapters were previewed on the site. By telling the whole story my aim is to unravel character and plot over a much longer time frame. Paint a clearer picture through words of, characters, motivations, evolving relationships and their consequences.

The type of erotic writing which I produce lends itself naturally to a recurrent and diverse treatment of; non anal gay sex, masculinity, concepts of man hood, domination, male bonding ... the male - male interface. In many of my short stories this is also interwoven into the social and cultural parameters of the 'location' of the tale. One of the essences of gay male erotic writing is the 'frisson' of males negotiating, pursuing, celebrating or denying themselves sexual interaction with other men.

The story is framed in an environment with which I am very familiar. I worked as a painter & decorator (as an employee) for a number of years ... then I renovated floors for a couple of years (as a sole trader). However, the story is not biographical. It is a collage of impressions, conversations, fantasies and muses. The surface plot and environment are less important to me than the themes of males in love and in lust. The nuances of negotiating healthy and loving relationships. How our lives are often shaped and changed by unforeseen 'coincidences' and 'events'.

I hope my familiarity with being 'on site' lends itself to comedy. I have met unimaginable characters selling their skills (bogus and bone fide), I have witnessed some of the most comical and impressionable scenarios when working 'on site'. The story requires some detail of the house and the 'project' the characters are involved in ... I have tried to interweave this essential information into the thought processes and activities of the characters. There is something about DIY (of all kinds) that stimulates the problem solver in all of us.

I will be releasing the story over time.
